Social Media & Content Strategy Project
Looking for a marketing pro who can organize, plan, and deploy content that speaks to chambers of commerce.
I’m seeking a reliable and strategic freelancer or contractor to help turn a growing library of marketing content into a consistent, well-planned social media presence.
The content is aimed at chamber of commerce professionals—CEOs, operations, marketing teams, and membership staff—and primarily focuses on non-dues revenue generation, especially through chamber publications and ad sales. We have a lot of videos to share with chamber of commerce professionals, nuggets of knowledge from “tribal elders”, from our own clients and from chamber pros who sell advertising.
We have great material—blog posts, videos, graphics, quotes, presentation clips and webinars—and now need a plan, structure, consistency, and support with strategy, scheduling and publishing.
What You’ll Help With
This project has four key components:
1. Strategy & Planning
-
Review existing content across LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and X
-
Develop a messaging strategy aligned with chamber priorities (member value, non-dues revenue, chamber knowledge, etc.)
-
Recommend what to post, how often, and where
- Suggest new content
2. Content Inventory
-
Organize all current content into a spreadsheet, Airtable or other platform (we’re looking for suggestions)
-
Tag by topic, format, platform, and how it can be reused
-
Identify missing content opportunities
3. Calendar Development
-
Build a 30–120 day content calendar
-
Align with themes like ad sales, non-dues revenue, publication success stories, etc.
-
Vary content types: quotes, tips, case studies, video clips, articles
4. Deployment
-
Schedule content using tools like Buffer, Later, or native tools
-
Light formatting or visual cleanup using Canva or similar
-
Track basic engagement and suggest optimizations
What Kind of Content?
Most content focuses on helping chambers:
-
Create or improve their non-dues revenue
- Create publications that tell a story, promote members, create visibility and generate non-dues revenue
-
Sell more advertising
-
With non-dues revenue ideas
-
Communicate value to members and stakeholders
- Learn from Chamber of Commerce “Tribal Elders”
Who This Is For
This is ideal for someone who:
-
Understands chambers of commerce or has worked with similar membership-based organizations
-
Has strong project management skills and marketing know-how
-
Can balance strategy with execution—getting things scheduled and posted
Deliverables
-
Messaging strategy and content themes
-
Organized content asset inventory
-
30–120 day posting calendar
-
Scheduled and deployed social media posts
This is a freelance project with potential for ongoing support if it’s a good fit.
